Shinning stars

Maxim Beloserkovsky and Irina Dvorovenko, principal dancers at the American Ballet Theatre, perform at Emirates Palace together with artists from the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky.

There is a story behind each one of the ballet dances performed on Friday, April 1, at Emirates Palace as part of the ‘Ballet Gala’, whether or not the story reflects true events, a fairytale, or a passage from literature. All of the dances share the same theme of ‘Love’.

With music from the Abu Dhabi Festival 2011 orchestra in residence, the Russian National Orchestra, these timeless dances were led by Maxim Beloserkovsky and Irina Dvorovenko, principal dancers at the American Ballet Theatre, who performed together with dancers from the Bolshoi and the Mariinsky.


The most well-known dance of all was Tchaikovsky’s ‘Black Swan’, featuring the famous sequence from the Act 3 of ‘Swan Lake’, were the lead female dancer seems to be turning on the same spot forever….
